Peace to You, Sr. Lillian, and Praised Be Jesus Christ! I am a 56-year-old Catholic woman who is going through the divorce process. I currently live with my soon-to-be ex-husband, Billy, and our 15-year-old daughter, Ana. We were married in the Church in 1986 so Fr. Anthony Saroki will be helping me with the annulment process as soon as the divorce is finalized, which should be soon. I am an RN but am in an inactive status due to a surgery that disabled me--my right leg great obturator nerve was severely damaged or severed during a three-level lumbar fusion surgery in 2010. I had the surgery for a work injury. Now I suffer pain, which is controlled, and walk with a cane. My husband and I grew apart in every way possible. I have felt "called" to be totally committed to our Blessed Lord since I was approximately five years old and my Mother told me the story of Christ's Passion. I cried for days and all my life wanted to be a nun or a nurse. I was strongly influenced by the Little Flower and entered the Carmel of the Trinity here in San Diego when I was 24 years old. Although I experienced complete serenity and many graces while in the monastery, I left abruptly after only seven months. I can only attribute that to immaturity and a poor self image. I have never stopped feeling "called" to serve the Lord as His spouse first and foremost. Now I hope to find my place in His divine will. I knew Mother Antonia and so did Billy. He even helped in her ministry with our best friend, now Fr. Paul Murray (Diocese of Maine), prior to our marriage. Please pray for me, Dear Sister Lillian, as I go through this final phase. My heart is full of great joy that I may be able to serve our Lord in the capacity I have felt called to serve Him in my whole life. My prayers are with you and the Community+
